The Curious Man in Suite 604 (A Memoir)
Over four years in the writing, this is the record of a rather fascinating man’s life. Charles W. Schuler was my father, although he often didn’t act like one. A veteran of World War II, aspiring (and failed) novelist, fancier of the French existentialists, small-time farmer turned lucrative resort hotel owner, car, boat and gun fancier, substance abuser, and marriage partner for seven decades (until he cavalierly left the relationship at age 94), he was vain about his appearance and narcissistic in his treatment of others. But he did have his good moments. You can read the entire story elsewhere on this website (hit the “Publications” tab)
